  • Sing with all Your heart...

    "When you sing, don't hesitate;
    He hears the spirit of God in you.
    It will be beautiful, especially to Him...
    Whether you can carry a note or not."

       I know it has been a long time since I have updated you all but so much has happened and so much continues to happen under the careful watch of our loving Savior. He has been showing and teaching me so much, I don't know if I could ever write it all down at once! I hope all of you are well and are staying strong in the Lord. Please know that even if I am not able to reply right away or all the time, that I am praying for you all. Keep looking up dear friends... <3

    Blessings!

    Forever,
    Whitney

  • Prayer request

    100_4998

    Dear Friends,

        My heart is torn to pieces over a friend's own heartbreak. Billy (Bdballa11) whom some of you know, lost his mother a few days ago. You can imagine the devastation that has combed their home these past few days. Please join me in praying for Billy. If you have ever spoken with him, or read his posts, you know what a beautiful heart he has for the Lord and it is so encouraging to see how he is looking to God for his strength through this time. Please pray God will continue to give him strength, and his family as well, as they bury their precious mother. And please stop by and leave an encouraging note! As brothers and sisters in Christ we are called to encourage one another. What better time than this?

    Blessings friends,
                             Whitney

  • Walking for His glory... even with the thorns

         It never ceases to amaze me how hateful we seem to get when things just don't go our way in life. We scream, we wonder, we cry, and then we grudge a fence up and try to forget about the problem or we dive in, thinking we can fix it. Why do things happen? Why did this happen to me? Why did God...?
        We all have these thoughts at one point or another. I know I have. Its just so crazy. The Apostle Paul was a great example. This was a man who's chewed and hateful soul had been restored with a touch of the Master's hand. A man who had dedicated his life to the ministry of Christ and to the service of our Lord. And yet, he had a deep 'thorn' as he called it, that tormented his very being. I recently read 2 Corinthians 12:7 where Paul talked about this difficulty in his letter. It was such a great encouragement to me and I think he was right in seeing how it 'humanized' and humbled him before God. Because God's grace is so great, so filling, it is sufficient for us. Trials come in order to develop perserverance (James 1), not to harm us or because our Lord is off getting his nails done. He is ever watchful and nothing happens without Him knowing about it... without Him allowing it. And He would only allow it for a reason... because He is the one seeing the bigger picture here. He's the one holding the plans to each and every one of our lives. God knows best as someone told me once. Paul knew this, and even though this thorn burned him, he kept his trust in God. And this is what keeps me going too. Because I know that every time I jump head long into a battle field it is not just me fighting my way through, there's a greater hand helping me swing a sword that otherwise I would not have the strength to swing. Its the same hand that dries the tears when we suffer through the thorns. We should be amazed at His wonders and thankful for our trials because He prepares us in each one for something else He knows we will have to go through... to teach us perserverance and to shape a heart devoted to a Sovereign God.
       Baby steps help a baby learn to walk fully. Little trials help us learn how to conquer bigger ones... while we remember who gives us the strength to do so. This is my deepest prayer: That my heart and all of our hearts would be steady and continually walk for His glory... even while we carry these thorns.

    "He trains my hands for battle;
    so that my arm can bend a bow of bronze."
    -Psalm 18:34

    "Every time I breathe You seem a little bit closer
    I never want to leave
    I want to stay in Your warm embrace
    Oh basking in the glory shining from Your face
    And every time I get another glimpse of Your heart
    I realize it’s true
    That You are so marvelous God
    And I am so in love with You."

    ~~~
    He never ceases to amaze me.
    God, You are so awesome.
    "Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
    He lifts His voice, the earth melts.
    The Lord almighty is with us;
    The God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah."
  • Hearts walk... admiring the Roses, and learning from the thorns
       Waiting, watching, holding on. Your world does not revolve around them but they are a big part of it. You can't wait to talk to them, see them, hear them laugh or sing. Then one day that part of life collapses and you see it no more. You cry, you long, but it seems to be gone now. Your heart crumbles and your voice gets rarely heard as your thoughts swarm around your head like the ocean crashing against the shore. Who comes when those tears fall? Who is there when you shout for that replacing joy? Who can give you the answers you're missing as you see so many mistakes... Who is the only One who truly understands?
    ONLY GOD
    ...Lord, I praise you for what you have taught. Please send your peace, Father...
       "Trust in the Lord at all times,
    Pour out your hearts to Him
    For God is our refuge."
    -Psalm 62:8
    "You will seek me and find me
    when you seek me with all of your heart."
    -Jeremiah 29:13
